Janelle and Howard Lester, known to everyone as Big Daddy, started the business in 1956 on Lincoln Street in LaGrange, GA selling home furnishings, gifts, and carpet. Howard and Janelle were joined shortly after their store opening by Pat and Robert Walters and Betty and Howard “Louis” Lester Jr. They helped the store grow to its current location on Hamilton Road in LaGrange were it has been for more than 25 years.

The store is now in its 3rd generation of ownership owned solely by Howard Lester III after the retirement of Wade Walters. There has been the addition of two satellite stores by Howard Lester III that are located in Columbus and Peachtree City, GA that serve as showrooms for the company. With their commitment to on hand inventory in LaGrange in Rugs, Carpet, Ceramic, Wood, Laminate, Luxury Vinyl Tile, Carpet Tile, and Vinyl you are sure to find what you are looking for to beautify your home.

The store has now been associated with Flooring America for 14 years. Flooring America is a 3,600-member buying group that strengthens the stores buying ability to be able to compete in the ever-changing floor covering market. It makes the store more than capable of competing with the big box stores with product selection and price while maintaining personal customer attention.
